This September, Discover Technologies welcomed six fellows to our team: Faramade Adediran, Chester King, Edwin Rice, Kayla Starner, Joanne Walker, Jermain Williamson. They will shadow Discover Technologies colleagues, participate in professional training, and gain hands-on experience by supporting current internal projects during their 3-month fellowship.

The experience, dedication, and professionalism that they bring will benefit any organization lucky enough to employ them in their next venture”, said Discover Technologies CEO, David Truitt. He added that “Discover Technologies will certainly continue to participate in the HOH program”.

What excites you most about your new position?
What excites me most about my new position is been able to learn new things, and also been able to work as a team.

I chose the line of work as I have always wanted to be in the technology field.
What made you choose Discover Technologies for your HOH Fellowship?
I chose Discover Technologies because I read about DT after my interview and I believe they have all it takes to serve people, also, there is room for growth especially being a starter in the field and trying to figure what part of the tech field works best for me.
How does your new role relate to what you did during your time serving in the military?

What excites you most about your new position?
Learning something new and hopefully being able to align myself to a position where I can be a contributor to the team and company.
What made you choose this line of work before leaving the military?
Prior to and throughout my career in the Marine Corps, I have been accustomed to having different jobs. For me, believing that the job itself has value and wanting to be a contributing player on a team with people who find value in what they do is important. After speaking with Rick Ferry I feel that I made a great choice with Discover Technologies.
What made you choose Discover Technologies for your HOH Fellowship?
While in the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program, I was blessed enough to have several companies interested in offering me an internship, but it was Rick Ferry’s genuine and personable approach while discussing Discover Technologies’ mission and how I could possibly contribute that made me want to become a part of the team/company.
How does your new role relate to what you did during your time serving in the military?
I think some of the most important skills are the ability to lead and manage a team and produce results or be a part of a team and effectively contribute toward goals/results. In addition, applying IT solutions to workflow processes in order to create or improve efficiency has been a struggle within the military for quite some time.
